We have drywall!!!

Woo hoo! We have walls for real! We went by today and they had completed all the drywall. It isn't taped or mudded yet, but it's up! You can tell what the rooms look like now, kinda! We can't wait until they get our cabinets and countertops done- we hope the colors we picked will work well together.

On another note, we have a PODS container in our driveway and have been diligently packin' it up this past week. We have most of the big stuff in it, and we had a yard sale today to get rid of some stuff, too. Our house is sooooo bare! We close on the condo on the 26th, and on the house on the 30th. Then the townhouse is supposed to be ready to close on May 31st, so we'll be living with Randy's folks for a month. Shelby will be staying with her grandmama and goompa (I'm sure she'll be kept fat and happy!). I can't thank everyone enough for taking care of us and the pets.

We also decided on decor for the half-bath and bought a rug and accessories at Target (of course!) today, along with some rugs to help protect our hardwood floors. We need to start thinking about what rooms we want to paint and what colors. Our half bath will definitely be painted- we're thinking a light sage green. The upstairs bath will be my dragonfly room, and will still be lavender, but I want to pick a more subtle shade. The back bedroom upstairs will have a chair rail when we move in, and we want to put wainscoting in and paint it white. The wall above the rail would be some shade of aqua blue, I think. The other bedroom upstairs we're not sure what to do with. All of downstairs and the loft will be the gray we picked out.

Here's the pics:

This is where our kitchen bar top will be:

Pics from a few weeks ago

I forgot I had some pics to upload from April 13 that Randy took. These are mostly of the wiring that had been completed, including all Randy's surround sound stuff he wanted.

Some frigid fun from the weekend

So, this was our Easter weekend. We went to Busch Gardens and King's Dominion with Grant and Sherry. It was insanely COLD!!! We are insane, because we went anyway. That, my friends, is indeed SNOW. We planned to go to Kings Dominion first, on Saturday, then spend the night in Williamsburg and go to Busch Gardens Sunday. But KD was closed on Saturday (we found out when we GOT there!) because of the cold, so we drove on over to BG and they were open. The coasters didn't open until it stopped snowing (the freaking log flume and Escape from Pompeii water/boat/soaking wet ride were RUNNING! and idiots were RIDING!), but they did open and we got to ride. There weren't any lines, at least! KD was also cleared out on Sunday (we were so bundled up!!!) and of course the 2 best rides, Volcano and Hypersonic XLC (which I have NEVER gotten to ride!!) were down. Poo. I did conquer my fear of drop rides as I rode the Drop Zone 300 ft. ride twice! Go me! It wasn't so bad.
We had fun. We're definitely getting too old for that kind of thing. We were all so sore on Monday.

Here's our entry photo to Busch Gardens:

Here's our ride photo on Apollo- yeah, that's me behind the scarf. I have no idea what my dear hubby was doing! Grant was "yarfing" into his hat!!

Mechanics

They recently installed our plumbing and HVAC stuff, as you can tell from the photos. It's coming along quite nicely! We met with the guy who does cable/telephone/surround sound wiring last week to figure out where we want our pre-wiring for the speakers and our built-in surround speakers to go. There's really not a great place for the rear ones, but it will have to do.

Totally off topic

This has nothing to do with the house, but I had to share. My kitties made it to My Cat Hates You.com!!! Sophie won a spot a while ago, but none of my other submissions have made it, until now! Check Noah (and a cameo by Jonah) out here!

On topic, Randy and I looked at some other homes/townhomes today, and we really like the darker cabinets in the bathrooms. So we went by and asked to change our bathroom cabinet selection from white to the medium wood color. I know the agent out there thinks we're crazy, since we're always there! He said it shouldn't be a problem to change.
