Time flies

I've been back at work for 4 weeks now. 5 more to go until the end of the school year, and I still have ZERO idea what I'm gonna be doing next year. (BTW- I have a papercut on my index finger and it REALLY hurts to type, so excuse any typos!). The first week back at work was the longest week EVER, but now the weeks are just flying by. Gracie is growing like a little weed- I can't hardly remember when she was so teeny. I'm getting really excited about Sherry and Kelly's soon-to-arrive babies! They'll be so itty-bitty compared to Gracie. I know they are anxious, too. Seems like the last several weeks went so slowly for me, and I went early! Good luck, girls!
Not much else going on. We have a wedding to go to today. I can't seem to get a free weekend to just stay home and chill with Gracie. We went to Busch Gardens last weekend, which was fun- I hadn't ridden a coaster in quite a while. Can't wait 'til we can drag Gracie on them with us...

3 months old today!

Today is Gracie's 3 month birthday. It is also her Grandma's birthday- so happy day to both! I took some 3 month pics that came out kinda cute- couldn't get her to smile in them, though. I can't believe that 3 months have gone by. Unreal. She is getting SO big, and just gets cuter every day.

She hasn't hit any big milestones recently. She loves to "stand" while we hold her arms- she's got quite a bit of leg strength. I carried her around in her front carrier (in Wal-mart) for the first time yesterday, and she seemed to enjoy looking at everything. She doesn't like to face backwards in it, though. But she can hold her head up well enough to face forward for a while. She noticed her feet for the first time yesterday, and is getting better about her hands- she can usually manage to get one of them to her mouth to chew/suck on, and she swipes at her eyes with them (on purpose, I think). I put her in the bathtub with me tonight for the first time. It was easier to wash her really well that way, and I could put her further down in the water so she stayed warm. Her little hands and feet get so grubby! I wipe them with wipes but they just seem to collect grime and sock-fuzz. Ew. So I scrubbed all that off really well tonight.

Gracie got new Wubbies!! Grandma and Grampa's dog Putt-Putt got ahold of the old one and chewed the paci up, so they ordered her 5 new ones! We have the red dog, the cat and pink horse, and they have the duck and frog at their house. They are all so cute!

Week 1 back to work

Yeah, it sucked. This was the longest week EVER. I didn't even stay at work all day today. I had a rotten headache which I think is due to allergies (the pollen is horribly around here). Katie was out sick, too, and we had a good sub, so I went in and got some stuff done for the class and then came home and crawled in the bed. I ended up getting some Claritin-D when I went to pick Gracie up, and it has seemed to help- my face doesn't feel so swollen with goo.
We FINALLY got our registry completion coupon from Babies R US today. It only took 3 phone calls to them. So, the nursery is almost complete! We got the curtains and the mobile, and a sheet and changing pad cover. I also got the front carrier I've been wanting and a tummy-time play mat (it has dragonflies on it!!). Gracie LOVES the mobile. The little happy bees are soooo cute! The curtains look great, and I think Gracie will end up liking the carrier, too. She doesn't seem to like being in it facing me- she'd rather face out, but her neck isn't quite strong enough to ride in it like that for very long.
I will try to take some pictures of the nursery and post them this weekend. The only thing left in there to get is a bookshelf and a couple pictures. I have a very specific idea of the bookshelf I want, and haven't been able to find exactly what I want yet.
The Hurricanes lost tonight. Boo. So it now comes down to Washington needs to lose tomorrow night. So, go Panthers! If the Caps win, Carolina is out of the playoffs.
Randy is wanting to do some painting around here. We've picked out some colors for the loft, guest room and upstairs bath. They are very similar to our pastels in our old house- we really like the beachy feel of them. We've gotten tired of all the gray in here.
Not much else to report. Stay tuned for pics this weekend!
